Developing Decentralized Applications
The second Solid Symposium will take place on May 2 and 3, 2024 in Leuven, Belgium. It offers users from research, business, administration and the web community a platform to discuss the current state of the art in Solid and exchange ideas. Solid, which stands for "Social Linked Data", enables a decentralized web architecture and puts control over data back into the hands of the users by means of the technologies used. They can store their data securely online and control access to it. The symposium includes keynotes, poster sessions, tutorials and panels on various technologies and application areas of Solid.
The symposium offers the opportunity to get to know solid as the infrastructure of the future for data portability and data sovereignty in depth and to exchange ideas with experts from the solid community: "The symposium brings the solid community together and opens up the topic to a wider audience: the concept has worked so well in 2023 that the series is now being continued in Belgium. Belgium is a leader in solid research and practical application, so we are already looking forward to many exciting impulses and new perspectives," says our expert Prof. Dr. Andreas Harth, Head of the Data Spaces and IoT Solutions department. He will open the symposium together with Dr. Bart Buelens from VITO - Flemish Institute for Technological Research.
